Short-chain PFAS in ice cores paper published and featured in the news
Our team’s work (with student authors Heidi and Daniel) on short-chain perfluorocarboxylic acids in two Arctic ice cores was recently published in Geophysical Research Letters. The work was featured in several media news outlets, including BBC, Scientific American, C&EN, CBC, etc.
Cora at AGU Fall Meeting
Cora was in San Francisco last week at the American Geophysical Union Fall Meeting. She presented HCl measurements from Teles, Andrea, and Alex.

Group attends SETAC North America meeting in Toronto
This year’s Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) North America meeting was held in Toronto in early November. Joseph, Teles, Devon, Jessica, Daniel, Alex, and Elizabeth (in absentia) all presented their work. Special congratulations to Devon and Daniel who won presentation awards!

Cora in Washington DC at AAAS symposium
Cora was in Washington DC this week to present at the American Academy for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Chemistry in Indoor Environments Symposium. Jessica attended the Tri-Conference on Mass Spectrometry held in Sherbrooke, Quebec in early August. She presented her work on emerging mass spec-based analytical techniques for the detection of perfluoroalkyl substances.
